Researching cat humping at 4am
Apparently it can be something other than sexual, like a need for affection, particularly if it’s accompanied with kneading.
Frobisher has been acting out a little lately, so today Grace and I were very firm with him. The behavior started today. Maybe he felt a little too beleaguered?
Anyway, vet appointment soon (And hopefully they won’t try and charge me $400 for a scan again), and I’ll read up on cat behavior in the meantime.
Adolescence is a hard time for cats; I can see him growing into behaviors he didn’t have when he was a kitten, and I want to make sure that I do what’s right so that those behaviors are avoided but also so that he’s happy and knows the rules.
He’s licking his paws after a little kneading-humping session on the blanket next to me.
Any insight into any of this would be great. The last cat I raised was neutered very young (Whereas Frobes is about 4 months past minimum legal neutering date), and I was young too so I don’t remember if he had any behavioral problems. Kapila’s whole personality was and is very different from Frobisher’s, so.
